The Roots Presents: Class Of ’95 Proved Rap Ages Like Wine At 2025 BET Experience

On Sunday night (June 8), The Roots united veteran emcees for a showcase of Hip-Hop culture for The Roots Presents: Class Of ’95 at the 2025 BET Experience. For the second year in a row, The Roots Picnic Experience, specially curated for the awards show weekend, offered the over-30 crowd a piece of nostalgic joy.  With thousands gathered outdoors at The Hollywood Bowl, the sun set, instantly shifting the vibrant energy as the rap concert began.

The show kicked off with Havoc repping Mobb Deep, setting the tone for a night of lyrical showmanship. Throughout the night, classic Hip-Hop tracks kept the audience on their feet as Black Thought and Questlove masterfully emceed the affair.

Lil Kim, Goodie Mob, DJ Quik, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Method Man and Redman, Raekwon and E-40 all took the stage and proved why the veterans of the culture should never be counted out.
