The Walls Speak to Us – A Friday Photo.
Just a simple Friday Photo collage of graffiti artwork, but one that says so much about the times we live in. This panoramic collage of photos taken last week on a graffiti hunt in Hull is open to your interpretation. To me, the photos express my dissatisfaction with Facebook, while acknowledging that things (good and bad) still blow my mind! It raises questions; why is the photographer riding atop the canine? Why is Donald Trump depicted as a baby in his prison cell? There is also a sense of fun as we watch the three blind mice dancing for Christmas – “See how they dance!”.
I have followed the speaking walls of Hull, expressed through graffiti artwork for many years. You can see my photos in my Flickr album.
I am always amazed and inspired by the talent and imagination – and the conundrums often presented – by Hull’s graffiti artists, many of whom prefer anonymity but deserve fame.
One such artist whose work I love a lot is Preston Fox a.k.a. PREG.
