Art & Apples Festival at Rochester Municipal Park
This three-day art fair has a juried group of around 250 artists, plus a kids’ zone, live music and food vendors with something for everyone and lots of apple-related offerings. The 58th annual Art & Apples Festival is the signature fundraiser for the Paint Creek Center for the Arts’ classes, exhibitions and other programs. 2-7 p.m. Fri., 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Sat. and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sun. ‘Memphis the Musical’ at Birmingham Village Players
Coming to a community theater stage for the first time in Metro Detroit, this 1950s-set production tells the story of how Black blues music first reached a white audience. “It was the music itself that first attracted me to ‘Memphis,’” said director Mark Carley in a press release about the Tony-award winning musical. “The score is just compelling. Sweatember: A Pop Dance Party Fundraiser at Planet Ant
Dress up like your favorite pop icon or invent your own party superstar persona and come ready to boogie at this pop-dance party with a dance floor, DJ, snacks and prizes. Dally in the Alley in Cass Corridor
This free, volunteer-run festival is one of the longest-running events in the city. People come for the eclectic food, the unique vendors and several stages of live music. Avril Levine at Pine Knob Music Theatre

“Pulp Fiction” at the Redford Theatre
