The Museum of Graffiti in Miami presents its upcoming exhibition, “TKID170 – Living Wild Style,” opening to the public on April 5, 2025. The show features the groundbreaking work of Bronx-born graffiti pioneer Julius Cavero, widely known as Tkid170, whose dynamic, bold approach and influential “wild style” writing have shaped the global graffiti movement for over four decades.
Tkid170, a revered pioneer in the urban art scene, has been pushing the boundaries of graffiti since the 1970s. Best known for his dynamic compositions and bold color choices, Tkid170 rose to prominence as part of the early New York graffiti crews that transformed subway trains into rolling canvases and inspired legions of artists around the world. “TKID170 – Living Wild Style celebrates his decades-long commitment to the art form and highlights how his continually evolving “wild style” writing still resonates with new generations of graffiti enthusiasts.
“I’m excited to bring my work to the Museum of Graffiti and share the energy that’s defined my journey from the subway yards of the Bronx to galleries around the world,” Tkid170 said. “This exhibition is a chance for me to show how wild style and graffiti culture continue to evolve, and I hope it inspires others to take risks and celebrate their own creative spirit.”
In addition to the opening on April 5, the Museum of Graffiti is hosting a special artist talk with Tkid170 on April 6th at (6pm) where visitors will have a rare chance to hear firsthand about his artistic journey, his take on the current graffiti scene, and the cultural impact of urban art on contemporary visual culture. This conversation offers an intimate glimpse into the life and career of one of graffiti’s most enduring icons.
“Tkid170 didn’t just make his mark in the Bronx—he forever changed the style and trajectory of graffiti as a result of his early travels to Europe where he mentored young artists,” Alan Ket, curator and cofounder of the Museum of Graffiti, said. “His legacy is a living testament to the power of unbridled self-expression, and we’re thrilled to invite Miami to experience his inventive and ever-evolving style firsthand.”
