The men who were convicted of PnB Rock’s murder have been sentenced to prison two years after his death.

On Monday, September 23, Freddie Trone appeared in a L.A. courtroom where he was sentenced to 31 years to life in prison. He was convicted of one count of conspiracy to commit robbery and two counts of second-degree robbery after he ordered his teenage son to rob and kill the rapper, born Rakim Allen. At the sentencing hearing, Allen’s mother and aunt spoke to the court before Trone was sentenced.

“Rakim was a shining light in our lives,” Deanna Allen said. “He was a star to us. He was our Michael Jackson, and we are devastated.”

Trone’s co-defendant Tremont Jones also received his sentence. Jones, who was accused of informing Trone about Allen’s whereabouts, was convicted of two counts of robbery and one count of conspiracy. He received 12 years in prison for his crimes.

During the trial, prosecutors argued that Jones told the elder Trone that Allen and his girlfriend Stephanie Sibounheuang had walked inside Roscoe’s Chicken N’ Waffles in Los Angeles. Trone called on his then-17-year-old son to rob and kill the rapper. After the shooting, both Trones escaped in a Buick. The young Trone, now 19, was apprehended and charged with the crime. However, he was found incompetent to stand trial and will remain in juvenile custody for the time being.

“We’re trying to live with this, but it’s very hard,” Allen’s mother said.

“He worked hard for everything he achieved,” Allen’s aunt said. “Always trying to provide for his mom his four brothers to create a better future. But in an instant, his life was stolen, leaving a void that will never be filled.”
