A mystery artist has given an underpass a comical makeover by painting a row of minions.

The yellow cartoon characters were graffitied onto seven posts at the bridge on the Leeds Liverpool canal, between Rosegrove and Hapton last weekend.

The artwork depicts Minions – lovable characters from the “Despicable Me” franchise.

The iconic characters are known for their comedic behavior and unintelligible language.

The graffiti is being enjoyed by adults and children alike with one woman likening the artist to mystery street artist, Banksy.

She said: “So who is the Lancashire Banksy? Hats off to the absolute legend who painted these.

“My 3-year-old and I love them.”

Another person said: “Love this – we walk past here quite often. Should be done under all motorway bridges.”
