From May 31 to June 16, 2024, Galerie Amarrage and the Graffart association host the exhibition “Fragments”, a duo-show by Shay Mess and Zokay Oner. Through a selection of previously unseen paintings, this exhibition celebrates beauty in the incomplete, history in the broken, and personality in the isolated piece.

Galerie Amarrage, base camp of the Graffart Association, located at 88 rue des Rosiers in Saint-Ouen, is an iconic graffiti & street art gallery at the Puces de Saint-Ouen.

At the crossroads of figurative art and calligraphic graffiti, Shay Mess and Zokay Oner offer a unique visual dialogue. Their works celebrate the synergy between expressive portraits and artistic lettering, creating fragments of life and thought.

French-Moroccan artist Shay Mess is known for her vibrant portraits of women, which explore the deep connection between body and spirit. Her paintings, rich in color and emotion, tell universal stories and capture the duality of the human experience.

Graffiti artist Zokay Oner integrates calligraphy and graffiti into his work. Using song lyrics and literary texts, he creates compositions in which words become dynamic, expressive forms. His work reflects a fusion between abstraction and urban poetry.

The “Fragments” exhibition reveals a poetic symbiosis between portraits and lettering, offering a new artistic dimension. The solo works offer a deep inner dialogue, while the collaborations capture the synergy and communion of two creative minds.

Highlights

On Thursday June 6 at 7:30pm, Galerie Amarrage is offering a special event to enhance the experience of the “Fragments” exhibition. This artistic mix, combining visual creations with Rhia’s haunting melodies, promises to make the experience even more immersive. It’s also a unique opportunity to meet the artists in a friendly and inspiring atmosphere.

Saturday June 08 from 11am to 10pm and Sunday June 09 from 11am to 8pm: On the occasion of this exhibition, the Amarrage gallery and the Graffart association will be supporting a local association, 93AK, by organizing a “braderie solidaire” with the sale of vintage furniture and clothing to finance language stays in Oakland for young people from Saint-Ouen.
