Dj polo : DJ Polo has reportedly dead. He was best known for his collaborations with Kool G Rap. On July 27, word of Polo’s claimed death spread across media sources such as Complex, prompting tributes.
According to Hot Hip Hop Wiki, Polo, whose real name was Thomas E. Pough, was a disc jockey and record producer from New York City. He rose to prominence after collaborating with rapper Kool G Rap to form the duo Kool G Rap and Polo. They collaborated to make three albums in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Eric B, a rapper and producer, was among the first to pay tribute to Polo as news of his death spread. In a memorial to his friend, he posted a photo on Instagram with the remark,
“My brother DJ POLO we had some great times you will never be forgotten GODS speed.”
Meanwhile, when news of his passing spread, his followers rushed to social media platforms such as X to pay respect to the DJ.
“Man. We lost another Hip-Hop soldier. “R.I.P,” commented one X user.”We’re losing some of our originals and legendary figures in Hip Hop R.I.P…..” Another comment was made.”Rest In Power…” said another user.”Many Hip Hop legends have passed away too soon. “RIP DJ Polo, who collaborated with Kool G. Rap on one of my favorite hip hop songs of all time,” another user remarked.
