YoungBoy Never Broke Again has announced a new album, and it’s set to arrive right before he’s released from prison.

On Friday (Feb. 28), YoungBoy’s team posted on its company Instagram that Top would return with his new project More Leaks on March 7. More Leaks will serve as the rapper’s first drop of 2025, and comes after he released I Just Got a Lot on My Shoulders back in December.

“Last project before TOP is back,” the caption read, referring to the rapper’s upcoming release from prison on July 27. The album’s first single, “5 Night,” appeared on DSPs on Friday.

The news comes as YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s prison release inches closer, following reports last month that the Baton Rouge rhymer would be let out far earlier than originally scheduled. YoungBoy (born Kentrell Gaulden) was previously indicted by federal prosecutors in March 2021 after he was allegedly found with two guns during a music video shoot back in September 2020. Due to an earlier felony conviction from 2017, YoungBoy was banned from possessing a gun.

He was put on house arrest in Utah while awaiting trial, and during that time was arrested again in April over allegations he helped orchestrate a “large scale prescription fraud ring.” He was also hit with another count of illegal gun possession after a semi-automatic pistol was discovered in his Utah bedroom. In December, YoungBoy’s legal team finalized a settlement to resolve all of the star’s previous cases, and saw YB plead guilty to one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The rapper was sentenced to 23 months in prison; he also received five years probation and $200,000 fine for a gun charge in a separate Utah case.

“This has been a long road that involved extensive litigation and ultimately extensive negotiation,” YoungBoy’s legal team said in a statement at the time. “Kentrell’s defense team is very happy for Kentrell and we look forward to his many future successes.”
